Personal Cruise Planner Questions, Answered
Short answers to what people ask before handing their cruise to a planner.
Talk to a Personal Cruise PlannerCommon Questions
What does “personal cruise concierge” mean on this site?
A personal cruise planner from our cruise advisors at Mister Cruise who looks after your booking end to end. It is different from the concierge desk in some ship cabin classes, which is staffed by the cruise line.
Is there a fee for planning?
Requesting quotes and advice from Mister Cruise is free. If any trip ever involves a service fee, it is explained before you commit.
Which cruise lines can a personal cruise planner book?
Independent advisors can usually book the major ocean and river lines. Ask any advisor which lines they book most often.
How early should I contact a planner?
For holidays, school breaks, suites and Alaska or Europe in summer, many months ahead is wise. For flexible short cruises, a few weeks can work.
Can a planner help if I already booked direct?
Sometimes a booking can be transferred to an advisor within a set period, depending on the line’s policy. Ask with your confirmation number to hand.
Will a cruise travel advisor find me a lower price?
Not always lower, but often better value: the right fare type, a promotion you qualify for, or a cabin that suits you better for a similar price.
What should I have ready for the first call?
Rough dates, who is travelling, a budget range, any past cruises and anything you definitely do not want. The planner does the rest.
Can a personal cruise planner help with travel insurance?
A planner can explain the kinds of cover available and when to buy, and arrange a policy if you wish. Always read the policy wording yourself, especially for pre-existing medical conditions and adventure activities.
What if my plans change after I book?
Tell your planner straight away. Depending on the fare rules, the booking may be moved to another date, changed to a different cabin or cancelled with a refund or credit. The earlier you ask, the more options there usually are.
Can one planner look after several cabins for a family reunion?
Yes. Linking the bookings, coordinating dining and keeping one list of payment dates is exactly the kind of work a planner takes off your hands.
Do you handle group cruises?
Yes. Groups with several cabins are where a planner helps most. Send the details through the quote form and an advisor will reply.

How a First Conversation Usually Goes
Most first conversations take a short while. You describe the trip you have in mind; the planner asks follow-up questions about travellers, dates, budget and past holidays; and you agree how and when you will receive options. Within a day or two you should have a short list with reasons and a written quote. There is no obligation to book, and a good planner will happily refine the options if the first ones are not quite right.
